Flash Fiction Contest #12!

ssffs-flash-fiction-contest-12

The holidays approach and it’s time for a new contest! Just in time for the spookiest season of the year, we have the following photo prompt:

spooky-mist

And for an added element of suspense, this story should also end with the phrase “He/She disappeared in the darkness.”

We know you can come up with something exciting and fun. But before you get started, please read the following instructions:

  • Keep your word count between 200-400.
  • No pornographic or hateful work.
  • Please email your entry to us. File types accepted include: .doc, .docx, or .rtf file. Email: shortstory.flashfictionsociety(at)gmail(dot)com. Do NOT send a PDF. From now on, we’re only accepting entries via email–we no longer accept entries in the comments.
  • Do not send previously written/published works. (Yes, that includes self-published. The point of this is to elicit a fresh story from this particular prompt.)
  • Leave your Twitter handle in the email so we can notify you via Twitter (and promote you) if you win.

The deadline is 11:59 PM Central Time (Chicago, USA) Nov 8, 2016!

Prize is a $10 Amazon Gift Card.

Looking forward to reading your entries!
